Allergy Stickers

Last year we had quite the allergy scare with miss Grace Parker. She was outside at my parent's house when she found her way into a fire ant pile. My parents immediately brushed them off of her, and even put her legs in the pool, but she was already covered in bites and started to break out in hives. My parents just happened to have children's benedryl in their cabinet (something I did not even have at home) and they gave it to her right away. This would be the thing that probably saved her. She continued to turn red all over so my parents headed to the ER and I was in quickly in my car headed to meet them there.
In the car Grace's mouth began to swell, she was drooling, and having a hard time forming words. We began to realize that we should have called an ambulance. My parents were amazing and got her to the hospital as quickly as possible.
The ER doctor said the benadryl probably saved her life. She was so red that another patient thought we must have been bringing her in for a severe sunburn.
She received a steriod shot, was monitored, and soon sent home with a couple of perscriptions and an epi pen.
Following this event I immediately bought childrens benadryl for my home and purse. You can even buy it in a pre-measured spoon which is so convenient to carry in your bag. Even if your child has no known allergies (i certainly did not know Grace had this problem with ants), it is such a good idea to have childrens benadryl in your home.
I also began to worry...a lot. What about the playground at school? How will her teachers know and remember to look out for this? I informed them of her allergy, and they made notes in her file. I still wanted something a little more in their face though. Not so "out of site, out of mind". So, i was thrilled when I found these allergy stickers on etsy. I put a cute "I'm allergic to ants" sticker on her backpack, where her teacher will see and be reminded every day. I also gave a couple extra to her teacher to place in her cubby, or anywhere else that would be helpful. I think these stickers would also be good to put on your child's shirt on a field trip day, or whatever. This shop can custom make the sticker for whatever need you have.
And look! They are cute!

You can find them at Delight Design Biz and they are only $5.95 a sheet!

Random Shirts for your Boy!

I have my eye on this shirt for Dean to wear to Disney World. Finding disney stuff for Grace is dangerously easy. Dean? Not so much! I love how this says"moms love me", and I also love that it is kind of retro-ish. You can find it at Old Navy.

If I could justify buying a couple unnecessary shirts for Dean right now, I would definitely be all about these two shirts from baby gap. I love little man shirts.
                                          For real.
This shirt from Crazy 8 is just plain cute.
Speaking of Crazy 8, Dean's aunts stocked him up on some seriously cute shirts from there for Christmas and they are all on sale now.
He is so cute in this robot t.
and this flannel is sooooo cute on him. LOVE!
Certain mornings I just know it is going to be a meltdown sort of day, and I of course now dress him appropriately.
                     I adore Dean's Pure Muscle shirt :)
See? Boy clothes are fun too! :)

Home Sweet Home

We are back from Colorado, where all kinds of cute things were this....

As you can see here, Dean is not so sure about this cold weather thing
really, not so sure at all!

My little snow bunny! Her bunny hat is from Gap kids :)

possibly the cutest picture ever taken

I will be back very soon with some cutie pie links for your kids!

You Won't Regret This Purchase!

If you are like me, and you are coming up with a birthday gift for your kiddos friends every week or so, buy these tags! You know you always forget the card and you either have to make another stop, or you have to do the awkward announcement "the winnie the pooh gift bag is from us!!!".
These tags are so cute and I am so thankful I have a stash of them on hand. They come in sets of 15 and you just attach them and go. Totally cute, right?
I plan on getting some of these for Dean's many engagements :)
                            From the princess!
These are also cute for Christmas tags, or attaching one with your last name to the box of homemade baked goods you have been meaning to bring your neighbor :)
They are $11.50 for the set of 15, and you can find them from the fabulous alacrity designs!
I will be out of town for a few days. I am heading to the mountains where the views are lovely, and the internet connection is sparse. Have a happy Wednesday, I will be back to the blog in a few days!

All Grown Up

Tomorrow I am turning 30. This is weird to me. Yes, I have been married for many years, we have purchased two homes, I color my gray, and I am a mother to two children; but somehow 30 makes me feel like I am all grown up. I do love that occasionally a sales person at the door will ask if my mother is home. I have to admit, that helps.
For my birthday, my grace parker informed her daddy that she wanted to make me a necklace. Jeremy, so sweetly, took grace to the craft store and let her pick out any beads she wanted for me. They made this together, and gave it to me last night at a birthday dinner I had with my family. I must say, Jeremy designed this quite well with his given materials, and I love that Grace picked the beads herself. This is definitely something I will be keeping forever!
Tomorrow I have an excellent birthday

My Baby Boy's First Birthday

For Dean's first birthday, we planned a retro sock monkey party with family. He didn't understand what all the hoopla was about, but he was so stinkin' cute!!!!

I found these cute invitations on etsy. Are you surprised?

My sister, Shannon, bought this sock monkey for D-Jax for Christmas, and it was perfect on the table. I found the little stick centerpiece, the banner, and the door sign at Ciao Bambino. They were perfect! I found the sock monkey fabric on etsy as well, and it made a cute table cloth.
The sock monkey cookies were oh, so very cute, and made by Sweet Essentials. She does such a fabulous job!

I loved Dean's cake. My dad made it, and it was as yummy as it was cute! The sock monkey cake topper is from Spirit Mama. It is hand made from clay. Yes, it was $35, but it is something that we will have forever. It was adorable. We also found these edible fondant sock monkey faces at Clineffs Confections. Perfect right?

My dad used the extra faces on cupcakes for the kids

                                 My sweet birthday boy!

He loves this napmat that my mamaw had made for him!

My happy birthday boy is now almost 2! He is talking more and more everyday, he is bursting with energy, so full of personality, and he brings me and his daddy SO much joy!!
